Zachary J. Schierl

Director of Business Development

Zach serves as Director of Business Development at Julius Capital, where he leads the firm’s strategic client engagement and growth initiatives. Drawing from his experience in the Catholic nonprofit world, he specializes in guiding clients through the design and execution of their mission-critical financial projects.

Zach works closely with clients to identify their most pressing funding needs and to craft comprehensive, “full-vision” funding solutions, leveraging Julius Capital’s innovative toolkit centered around “balance sheet philanthropy”, or the integration of sophisticated financial instruments with traditional philanthropic capital, to deliver fiscally sustainable funding models which achieve the project’s best-case scenario without compromising on mission or vision.

Before joining Julius Capital, Zach held specialized roles in advancement and development within the Catholic nonprofit sector, including positions at the Diocese of Fort Worth Advancement Foundation and in the Major Gifts office at his alma mater, the University of Dallas. His experience in these mission-driven environments informs his client-first approach and his ability to align financial strategy with organizational values.

Zach holds degrees in Philosophy, Politics, and Ethics from the University of Dallas, where he served as president of the Society of St. Joseph as well as Commentary Editor for the Cor Chronicle. Zach is consecrated to Our Lady and a member of the Militia Immaculata, founded by St. Maximillian Kolbe.
