Walt focuses on serving a nationwide network of non-profit and faith-based clients with their capital financing needs with extensive demonstrated expertise in structuring and completing tax-exempt, taxable, bank loan, and planned giving friendly forms of financing. These various efforts include hundreds of transactions that have raised billions in funding for clients in virtually every state. Walt’s experience includes four years with Salomon Brothers and over 30 years with Coughlin & Company, a fourth-generation family firm located in Denver, Colorado and founded in 1932.
Walt serves or has served on a variety of local and national non-profit Boards including the Reilly Center at the University of Notre Dame, Arrupe Jesuit High School (a Cristo Rey Network School), the Goodwill of Colorado Foundation, the Archdiocese of Denver Finance Council and Project Finance Review Committee, SafeHouse Denver (a domestic violence shelter), the St. Vincent De Paul Parish Council and many others.
Walt earned an A.B. in Economics from Stanford University and Master of Management degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Walt resides in Denver, Colorado where he lives with his wife of 31 years, his two adult children and three grandchildren.
